How to Change Associated File Types for VLC Media Player 2013

Hi guys VLC media player is a most popular media player to play videos, mp3 songs, capture picture from videos etc. it makes sense to use it as your primary media player. Many people use VLC media player. this post is based on the topic, 'How to Change Associated File Types for VLC Media Player'.
if you want to know just follow the steps given below.
open your VLC media player and click on tools and then Preferences. see the picture.

 

click on interface left hand side menu and then set up associated button.

Place a check mark next to specific file types you wish to associate with VLC. If you want VLC to open all possible file types, just check the boxes labeled "Audio Files" "Video Files" and "Playlist Files" and click on save button.

 

you are done now you can customize associated file types for VLC Media Player.
